Centrepoint is the UK’s leading charity for homeless young people. Working with over 7,800 young people every year, our vision is to end youth homelessness. While we pursue this vision, our immediate focus is on providing vulnerable young people with a place to call home and a chance to acquire the skills they need to build a better future. Centrepoint works directly in London, Yorkshire and the North East of England, and collaborates actively with similar organisations right across the UK.

We are looking for various Supported Housing Officers to join our excellent Housing and Support team across our London services.

Do you have the skills and drive to engage young people in self-development, but not sure you have the right experience? This role is a perfect opportunity for applicants who are not already working in supported housing, or have limited experience.

In this role you will:

  • Promote a vibrant culture with an uncompromising commitment to excellence and fully integrated support and development services, reflecting the needs of those accessing the service.
  • Work as part of an outcome focused team that works effectively with vulnerable young people; ensuring your work is of outstanding enduring quality and is responsive to the needs of young people and commissioners. Work in a way that consistently reflects best practice and ensures the services offers outstanding value for money.
  • Ensure that the service provides a safe and welcoming environment to young people and visitors by being a first point of contact in the building. Provide a welcoming and professional environment answering general enquires, and providing a safe environment for service users, stakeholders and visitors by ensuring that house rules are followed.

In return for your efforts you will receive excellent training and development, competitive salary and a host of staff benefits.

Please note that these roles require working to a rota pattern that involves weekend and evening work, as well as sleep-in shifts.

We seek to challenge discrimination and are committed to fairness and equality. We especially welcome applications from anyone with direct experience of being homeless or using young people’s service.

Interview date: Week commencing 5 December 2016
Induction start date: Monday 20 February 2017
