We currently have an exciting vacancy for a Seasonal Membership & Adoptions Assistant to join our team on a temporary basis.

The Role:

  • Sell membership and adoptions face to face with customers in a polite and efficient manner in order to meet annual sales targets.
  • Check and secure cash taken through the till (assist with cash up).
  • Process the administration involved in selling membership and adoptions (data in-put, post, emails, online applications, cheque payments, credit card payments, telephone queries).
  • Input ideas for membership and adoption offers/sales.
  • Monitor literature stock and organise necessary delivery from internal garage/stores.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • GCSE or equivalent in standard maths and English in order to deal with system figures/ cash handling and writing/emailing members and adopters.
  • Competent IT skills and be able to use most Microsoft applications in particular Excel and Word.
  • Good communication, customer service and sales skills via phone, face to face and in writing (email or letter form).
  • Experience in taking payments over the phone and cheques via the post.
  • Assisting with monthly tasks such as the plaque export to printers, Membership/Adoption renewal letters, data cleaning, expired plaque removal from system, contact merges, & stationary orders
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment with attention to detail being essential.
  • An understanding of GDPR.
  • Knowledge of how the zoo works generally. Working with animal adoptions requires us to have updated knowledge of the species stats so we can answer any customer queries.

 

Hours of work are 22.5 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 days. Candidates are expected to have a flexible attitude to work to enable cover within the busy department as week day, weekend and Bank Holiday working is required plus occasional evening work may be necessary.
