At St Mungo’s our vision is that everyone has a place to call home and can fulfil their hopes and ambitions.

Our service The Sanctuary is part of Bristol Mental Health and it is a developing service, providing a safe place for men and women over 16 who are experiencing emotional and mental distress as a result of their mental health. It is open four evenings a week (Friday – Monday) from 7pm to 2am and is based in a central Bristol location. The Sanctuary works alongside service users to help them identify their strengths and strategies, in order to manage their mental health in the short term.

This is an emotionally demanding post where you work as part of a team to manage who comes in each night, helping the client to find some equilibrium and supporting them to identify what strengths and abilities will help them to maintain short term stability. It is a developing post and we are planning to start group work and increase the range of complementary therapies on offer.

We are looking for an individual with knowledge and understanding of mental health issues, who has enthusiasm and passion for supporting people in, or at risk of crisis and who is committed to client involvement both in their own lives and in the ongoing development of the service.

In return, we offer a range of benefits including a pension scheme, staff discounts scheme and flexible working to help you maintain a healthy work/life balance. We are also committed to providing our staff with a wide range of learning and development opportunities; in support of their personal and professional development.

We welcome and encourage those with lived experience of mental health issues and/or services to apply. Due to the unsocial nature of the hours to be worked we would also welcome applications from those who do not wish to work full time but are interested in covering any number of sessions.

For an informal discussion, please contact Richard Popp, the manager on 07718 571030
