Are you an experienced fundraiser with a particular interest in legacy giving?

The V&A is recruiting a new Senior Legacies Officer to support the Head of Legacy Giving in securing increased support and income for the V&A through gifts in Wills and in-memory giving. This is an exciting time to join the legacy team at the V&A as we develop a new legacy proposition and campaign, and the Senior Legacies Officer will play a key part in this. The role will cover all aspects of legacy fundraising, including marketing, legacy administration and pledger stewardship, and will be the first point of contact for legacy enquiries (both cash and objects) for the Museum’s collection.

As the world’s leading Museum of art and design, the V&A enriches people’s lives by promoting the practice of design and increasing knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of the designed world. The V&A comprises the main site at South Kensington, the V&A Museum of Childhood at Bethnal Green and the archive/study collections site at Blythe House, West London. V&A East, a new museum and collections storage facility, is due to open in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford by 2025.

The legacies team sits within the Development Department, which is critical in enabling the V&A to realise its ambitions through raising funds for FuturePlan, the V&A’s extensive programme of capital redevelopment, alongside support for acquisitions, exhibitions, conservation and learning programmes.

The V&A is a dynamic and inspiring place to work and the Senior Legacies Officer will play a meaningful role in helping secure its reputation, reach and long-term financial sustainability for years to come.
