Full time, 37 hours per week

Who are we looking for?

Burton and South Derbyshire College is seeking to appoint a well-organised, committed and enthusiastic individual to join our Customer and Learner Services Team.

You will play a vital role in contributing to the College recruitment, admissions, retention and success rates by providing efficient and effective frontline services offering information, advice and guidance on our wide and diverse range of complimentary support services to existing learners, new applicants to the College and general public while being part of the team that handle a busy switchboard with in and outbound calls.

You will be required to work closely, and in collaboration with, cross College departments in order to provide a welcoming, seamless and professional service to learners and visitors to the Learner Hub.

You will also be required to be a good team-player, with good communication skills and have experience of inputting data efficiently and accurately.

This role would suit a vibrant, outgoing individual who is able to work effectively as part of a team but also has the tenacity and motivation to, at times work alone or on individual tasks or projects. 

This role will require working to a rota between our Burton town centre campus and the Stephen Burke Construction Academy (in Swadlincote) campus. Some evening and weekend work is required to support College Open Days at campus, internal further education and careers events, and learner progress events and school engagement activities which fall outside of normal working hours.

You should be qualified to Level 2 English and Maths or above with vocational experience in Business Administration or Customer Service, or willing to work towards  Level 2 English and Maths and be able to demonstrate a good level of IT literacy. Knowledge of working in customer facing roles would be an advantage, as would the ability to speak more than one language.
