An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Co-ordinator to work across the London Borough of Barnet Social Care and SEN service areas.
The role:
The focus of this role is to support the timeliness and quality of social care information being provided into the Education, Health and Care Assessment processes for children known to social care. The successful candidate will have some understanding of the process beginning with a request for an EHC assessment, the multi-agency Panel decision-making process, through to the implementation of the Plan. While the post sits within Social Care, and will be line managed by the 0-25 Strategic Manager, you will be expected to work closely with Head of SEN Assessments and Placements Team.
Skills:
Good IT skills are a requirement as spreadsheets will need to be updated and reports generated for circulation. You must be confident in working with a range of professionals from across all agencies and specifically with Social Care and SEN managers. Of particular importance is an aptitude for directly, and sensitively, liaising with parents/carers. This is a new post and will be offered in the first instance for a 12 month period. Secondment will be considered and training provided where necessary.
