Tutor of Media A-Level

Hours: 37 hours per week (1.0 fte) 
Salary: Up to £40,109 per annum (subject to experience and qualifications). Plus generous benefits. These include: 

•    55 days annual leave per year (including bank holidays and efficiency closures)
•    Generous Occupational Pension Scheme 
•    Financial support towards teacher training course fees if you do not have a recognised Level 5 teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE) 

About the role
We are seeking a motivated and flexible teacher to join our creative media teaching team. Teaching duties primarily include delivering our OCR AS and A Level Media Studies and playing a significant role in the development and delivery of our new T level in Media, Broadcast & Production

The successful applicant will plan and deliver material covering the academic and production aspects of both courses, including textual analysis, industry and audience contexts and issues around working in the creative sector. The successful candidate will also be practiced in supporting students as they experiment with their own creative skills and explore their own professional practice. The development and delivery of course material and assessment of student work are an intrinsic part of the post.

You would be joining a well-established teaching team and teaching on courses with successful track records. The courses are well-resourced and equipped, with technical support available for staff and students. 

About the Person
You will have knowledge and experience of teaching A level and related courses in Media. A sound grasp of relevant media theories and concepts around media industries, audiences, language and representations is essential and familiarity with production processes and Adobe CS (particularly Photoshop and Premier) would be a distinct advantage. Knowledge of the roles and working practices of the creative industries would also be an advantage.
