Tutor of Psychology

Hours: 37 hours per week (1.0 fte) 
Salary: Up to £37,661 per annum (subject to experience and qualifications). Plus generous benefits. These include: 

•    55 days annual leave per year (including bank holidays and efficiency closures)
•    Generous Occupational Pension Scheme 
•    Financial support towards teacher training course fees if you do not have a recognised Level 5 teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE)

About the role 
An enthusiastic and inspirational Tutor of Psychology with a proven track record is required to join a dynamic and successful team responsible for over 220 AS, 100 A2 and 100 BTEC full-time students. The department delivers the AQA Psychology specification and is currently also delivering the Pearson BTEC Applied Psychology specification.
You will plan, prepare and deliver high quality teaching, learning and assessment, including any necessary marking. Psychology is an especially popular subject and the successful candidate will join a large Humanities, Languages and Social Sciences team of teachers including 3 other Psychology teachers, who teach a large number of students at A level and BTEC. The courses are well resourced with fully developed Schemes of Learning.

About the Person 
You will be expected to teach both years of the A level Psychology course as well as BTEC Psychology if possible; previous experience of teaching both the AQA and Pearson specifications would be useful. 
You will need recent/current experience along with a relevant professional / academic qualification and a Level 4 Teaching Qualification or above.  

Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative. The willingness and ability to teach across a mixed range of programmes is also essential.

Candidates may offer skills and experiences suitable for a proportion of role or the total 37 hours per week.
