Reporting into the Head of Press and Corporate Communications, the Press Officer works closely with colleagues across the Museum and external stakeholders to generate positive media coverage for the V&A in support of the Museum’s corporate plan. The Press Officer has responsibility for planning and delivering successful media campaigns for ticketed exhibitions as well as the permanent collection including new galleries, redisplays and acquisitions.

We are looking for applicants who have proven experience implementing imaginative and effective communication campaigns across a wide range of media, integrating print, broadcast, online and social media activity that compliments activities led by Marketing and Digital teams. Proven experience of managing numerous stakeholder relationships and working closely with senior staff are also vital. Candidates should have a strong sense for news and picture-led stories with excellent media relationships already in place. Experience of working in a busy press office, managing tight and urgent deadlines is essential.

This is a fixed term contract for one year to cover a period of maternity leave.
