As the leading conservation charity in the UK, the RSPB has set an ambitious strategy transforming its approach to saving nature. Recognising that people are at the heart of delivering this, we have an exciting opportunity for a talented and driven individual to join our HR and Development Team.
Reporting to the Head of HR Operations and working closely with colleagues in the People directorate, you will provide the background, insights and recommendations to enable the RSPB to set its strategic direction and play a key part in implementing changes that ensure the wellbeing of its workforce is at the heart of everything it does.
Key deliverables will include:
• Developing relationships across all areas of the RSPB to understand the current areas of concern • Looking at all aspects of wellbeing - Financial, Social, Physical, Mental and Environmental • Ensure the root cause of issues are understood and the learning from this is shared across the RSPB creating a proactive approach to supporting line managers. • Work closely with various stakeholders including wellbeing champions and mental health first aiders. • Providing data driven reports and insights that demonstrate the benefits of wellbeing • Seek and drive implementation of new or innovative solutions to aid managers and staff to improve their wellbeing and enable the organisation to thrive • Create and procure supporting materials, working closely with L&OD • Benchmarking where the RSPB is now and measuring the success of wellbeing interventions • Building relationships with external wellbeing providers.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
• Extensive knowledge of employee wellbeing and sound understanding of its impacts in and HR context • Track record of involvement in similar organisational change projects • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders while managing expectations • An effective communicator who can collate and present data to enable business focused decisions • Sound coaching and mentoring skills • Ability to drive and manage workload • Understanding of the importance of project management approach to delivery of change • Strong computer skills and an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages, including SharePoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook
This is a Permanent, Full-Time role. The successful candidate can be based remotely within the UK, and occasional visits to our HQ in Sandy Bedfordshire will be required.
