The role: 
The function of the role is to technically tender, qualify and clarify customer enquiries and upon award to technically support, deliver and execute these projects in a safe manner to a high standard.  The primary projects will be those which require well severance, structural decommissioning or infrastructure removal with a high-level understanding of abrasive cutting technology and its application.

Principal Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for technical input into and delivery of projects from FEED stage, tender stage and on to execution stage. 
  • To be the customer focal point for all technical queries and their interface upon project award. 
  • To conceive new solutions to client problems. 
  • To support offshore project teams with technical support in the area of AWJC (Abrasive Water Jet Cutting) and other decom related tooling where applicable. 
  • To work closely with the team to ‘think-outside’ the box and deliver right first time and fit for purpose solutions. 
  • Carry out failure mode analysis on the spread or application and input into project risk register. 
  • To ensure excellent service delivery. 
  • To develop and maintain working relationships with internal service functions. 
  • To ensure all scopes are delivered safely and in accordance with JFO Integrated. Management System.
  • To plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate the delivery of all aspects of the project, taking responsibility for the technical feasibility, technical support, project risks, budget and margin control, Cost, Time, Resource (CTR’S) (Project Risk Assessments).
  • To manage work scopes to deliver customer objectives and satisfaction. 
  • To conduct pre-mobilisation full project briefs including a walk through off each operation, product/service, deployment and recovery, project risk assessment and identify competency gaps in the offshore execution teams.
  • To ensure Technician requirements are forecasted regularly to allow for resource planning, this includes a breakdown of the competencies required to execute the scope of work. 
  • To review and sign-off monthly invoicing for any projects delivered. 
  • To participate in any internal or external meetings to support the delivery of projects or support the development of the business.
  • To be technically strong and a SME in AWJC to support offshore operational issues and handle client technical calls.
  • To carry out incident investigations, 5 whys RCA (Root Cause Analysis) present After-Action Reviews. 
  • To complete technical lessons learned and drive process change where appropriate.

General Responsibilities: 

  • Liaise with workshop and office staff to ensure prioritization of workload.
  • Ensure client FAT's (Factory Acceptance Testing), documentation and certification is to satisfactory standards.
  • Sign off completed work.
  • Liaise with other relevant departments eg: workshop, stores, and logistics as required.
  • Fulfil training requirements including gaining offshore/onshore AWJC experience.
  • Provide updates on project status, changes in scope and 3rd party resources.
  • Participate in technician premobilisation briefings and present Scope of Works/Risk Assessments (SOW/RA).

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Engineering experience or qualification preferable.
  • Previous workshop experience in an engineering environment.
  • Experience in High/Ultra High-Pressure Abrasive Cutting (AWJC) systems desirable.
  • Subsea decommissioning experience, well severance experience from platforms and vessels desirable.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Proficient IT skills with MS Office, email and Asset Management systems.
