Main purpose of the job: To provide project support to the Director, Policy, Projects & Course Manager and the Resources Manager in their roles as Project Leaders for projects initiated by NHS-UK or agreed with external bodies.

Responsible to: Operationally to the Resources Manager who will line manage and oversee the Projects Officer’s workload. The post-holder will work to the appropriate Project Leader as listed above on specific projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To act as the first point of contact for all project related enquiries.
  • To support the Project Leaders by researching and drafting content in response to requests for expert advice from funding bodies and other external agencies.
  • To provide support to the appropriate Project Leader in developing, initiating and delivering specific projects, both internally and externally funded.
  • To raise purchase orders with regard to project expenditure.
  • To research information on vessels on the National Registers (including the production of statements of significance), update related spreadsheets and assist the Registration Working Group.
  • To administer the NHS-UK distance learning programme, acting as the first point of liaison for students and assisting in the development of further course material.
  • To act as the first point of contact for the Shipshape Network hubs and projects, developing related material for the web-pages, newsletter and social media, and assisting with the organisation of Network events and activities.
  • To contribute to NHS-UK outreach and the development of wider audiences through promotional activities.
  • To assist with the organising of project events, symposia, seminars, conferences and the annual Awards ceremony.
  • To support the Resources Manager by raising tickets for web maintenance via the Jira system as required
  • To carry out any other tasks commensurate with the level and scope of the post that may need to be undertaken from time to time.

Skills and Experience:

 Essential:

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good literacy and research skills.
  • Computer literate and demonstrable MS office and social media skills
  • A team player with strong organisational skills
  • Demonstrable administrative capability
  • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability and flexibility to meet tight deadlines co-operatively

Desirable:

  • Some experience helping to organise events

Terms and Conditions:

The post holder will work a 28 hour week, core hours Monday to Thursday 9.00am to 5.00pm. Flexibility and occasional overtime or overnight stays may be required.

Salary: £16,333 which is pro rata of £21,000 per annum
