Outreach Team Leader
Fixed term contract or external secondment until end June 2015
Sussex
£27,661- £29,574 p.a.

Broadway has just been awarded a contract to provide an Outreach Service for Sussex. This involves engaging with rough sleepers across the county to encourage them to access appropriate accommodation.

Although new to Sussex, Broadway has a reputation for the quality of our work and also for innovative practice. Our Personalised Budgets project for rough sleepers (run in conjunction with The City of London Corporation) was awarded first prize at the Andy Ludlow awards 2011. In addition Broadway will be bringing their highly effective Pop-Up Hub model to Sussex which will be a key strand of this project.

You will co-ordinate most of the day-to-day aspects of the outreach service, line-managing staff but also having a client caseload yourself. Working in a dynamic environment where fresh ideas and approaches are being developed by the County’s key stakeholders, this post offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced frontline worker or someone with appropriate transferable skills who is interested in developing a career in service management.

You will have experience and knowledge of working with vulnerable individuals, including those who are street homeless, and an understanding of their needs and the issues that affect them. A willingness to work flexible hours in order to adapt to the needs of the client group, sometimes including early morning or late evening shifts and an ability to work independently, is essential for this post. You will need to be comfortable with working assertively with individuals, challenging the choices people have made and working closely with enforcement agencies such as the Police, with who you may be co-located, and UKBA. We are looking for a highly motivated and creative individual with excellent communication and relationship building skills to work in this successful team.

Please note that this post will cover all of Sussex, so travel will be required and the location may vary.

This post requires an Enhanced DBS Disclosure (formerly known as an Enhanced CRB).
